Here is the latest from the Documentary Edge Hub.

The Documentary Edge Team

It’s easy to submit, just go to WAB and with a few clicks away you are done. If you are not registered on WAB, it’s easy and free to join. Make sure that you read the 2012 Rules and Regulations prior to completing your submission/s.

The 4 submission deadlines:
Early Bird: 15 June, Regular: 31 Aug, Late: 15 Sept, WAB Extended: 30 Sept

2. Festival 2011 Survey – DVDs and Wine goes to…

Your feedback is very important to us and we thank each and every one of you who took the time to fill-in the 2011 Festival Survey. While we are analyzing the results and planning the 2012 Festival, we are excited to announce that Shalesh Vasan won the delightful prize of DVDs and Wine. Thank you to Sumner and Tom Burstyn of Cloud South Productions for donating their films This Way of Life and One Man, One Cow, One Planet. Congratulations to Shalesh and we look forward to seeing you all back at Documentary Edge Festival 2012.

3. Docu72 – Less than a 100 days kick off

If you just took part in the 48 hour competition, you now have 3 months to get ready  before competing  in the 72 hour documentary contest, a new and homegrown documentary competition.

While THE kick off of the year is saved for the Ruby World Cup on the 9th of September, another important kick off will be held two weeks earlier with the inauguration of Docu72.

NZ’s first short documentary competition will be held from 26-29 August 2011 and now is the time to gather friends, family, colleagues and anyone with a pulse to help you win this challenge.

Go to www.docu72.com where you will find the latest information including the new Blog.

4. Documentary Edge Campus – ‘Come and knock on our door, We've been waiting for you…’

We felt that the opening lyrics of ‘Three’s Company’ (you need to be old enough to remember the American TV show) theme song are a great invitation to New Zealand’s first resource centre for documentary films and materials . While the song talks about three’s company, there is actually room for four with 4 viewing stations on offer.

‘We've a loveable space that needs your face’ the song continues, so come in and use the Campus anytime between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday (booking is recommended).
The Campus is located at level 1, 114 Ponsonby Road, Auckland (above The Long Room).
Check out the film catalogue and more details on the website.
