Become a Volunteer
Volunteers form a key role in the smooth operation of Documentary Edge by providing skills to fill various positions both prior to and during the festival.
In return, Documentary Edge offers its volunteers:
- The opportunity to contribute their skills and gain valuable experience and knowledge through participation in the only dedicated international documentary film festival in New Zealand;
- The opportunity to contribute to New Zealand’s vibrant cultural community;
- The opportunity to network with documentary filmmakers and industry professionals in a high-energy environment;
- Access to Documentary Edge screenings and events;
- Acknowledgement as a valuable team member.
Documentary Edge seeks help in various areas including programming, fundraising and marketing departments. On-site volunteers are also engaged as ushers, event assistants, registrars, drivers, filmmaker hosts and more.
