Sid Bernstein Presents... explores the American dream through the life of one of the most important pioneers in modern music
history. He was a poor, adopted, Jewish kid from Harlem and became one of the most influential men in the music business.

Among his many achievements, Bernstein led the charge against racism in the U.S. He was the first white promoter at Harlem’s famed Apollo Theater and the first to bring Ray Charles, James Brown and many others into mainstream venues.

Mambo great Tito Puente credits Sid with bringing Latin music mainstream and he also known for bringing the British Invasion to America, including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Moody
Blues, Animals, Kinks, Herman’s Hermits, Dave Clark Five, Manfred Mann and Gerry and the Pacemakers. Bernstein managed The Rascals, Melba Moore, Laura Branigan and others.

Bernstein introduced ABBA to America. He also created the first stadium concert and the first major charity and anti-war concerts.

Emerging directors Strome and Ressler have combined common documentary elements with those more typical of narrative cinema in this tribute to Sid Bernstein.
